Information
Raritan Valley Road Runners is New Jersey's best running club. Though we are involved in many races and events, we are not only a group of racers. We strive to promote the sport of running and a healthy lifestyle. We also have fun at parties and other social events. We have 4 official club runs each week.
The Wednesday Night Run is our central club event. Raritan Valley Road Runner members have run weekly since 1983 for an unbroken streak of consecutive Wednesday night runs! Come join us at 6:30 p.m--Often club members meet for dinner afterward.
Every Saturday morning, we meet in Johnson Park in Piscataway for a group run, followed by an optional breakfast. During the summer, these runs will be starting at 8 a.m. from Grove 5, just south of Landing Lane. Runners should arrive by 7:50 a.m. for the 8 a.m. start. During late fall and winter, these runs start at 9 a.m. from the Zoo parking lot, north of Landing Lane and the Route 18 bridge. This lot is about 0.7 miles north of Landing Lane on the left, just past the horse track, and is set about 50 meters back from the main park road. Check the home page for more information and the latest details. The run is out-and-back on the Delaware & Raritan Canal Towpath, loops on the Rutgers campus, or inside of the nearby ecological preserve. Typical distances vary from 3 to over 20 miles and runners of all levels are welcome! Routes are also walker friendly. Rest rooms are available at the start and along the way, but they close for the season in early November.
The Monday night run meets at 6:30 pm at the Franklin Library on Demott Lane in Somerset. Routes vary from 3.6 to 7.1 miles. Bring a headlamp/reflective gear for Spring, Fall, and Winter runs.
The Thursday night run meets at 6:30 pm at the Piscataway Community Center on Rt. 18/Hoes Lane in Piscataway. Routes vary from 3.5 to 7.5 miles. Bring a headlamp/reflective gear for Spring, Fall, and Winter runs.
