Fall Youth Program Ages 6-7

We're exited to launch a fall track and field program. This program will mirror our spring program introducing young athletes to track and field. Running, sprinting, jumping and hurdling as well as fun activities to work on general movement and mobility. 

This session will be on Wednesdays 5:00-5:45pm starting September 3rd and ending on November 26th. 

This will be capped at 20 athletes so we can give them attention and adjust the level for different ages.

Fall Youth Program AGES 8-9

We're exited to launch a fall track and field program. This program will mirror our spring program introducing young athletes to track and field. Running, sprinting, jumping and hurdling as well as fun activities to work on general movement and mobility. For this age group they would be ready to run try the Turkey Trot 5k or Kids 1k on November 22nd. 

This session will be on Wednesdays 5:45-6:30pm starting September 3rd and ending on November 26th. 

This will be capped at 20 athletes so we can give them attention and adjust the level for different ages.

Fall Youth Program Ages 10+

This part of the fall youth program is designed for older kids so they will be ready to run a 5k at the end of season. 

They should enter the program being comfortable run/walking for 10 minutes and will work up for continuously running for a 5k. 

There will be a focus on running drills, speed workouts and building endurance. This will match more like a cross country season, than as big of a focus on all of the other events. 

Practice will be Wednesday's at 5:00-6:00pm at Harbor High Track and Fridays from 5:00-6:00 starting at Harbor High Track but once the season is going we'll communicate about meeting at other locations for longer runs in Santa Cruz for Friday practices. 

We are excited to have long time track club member— Jeff Soares—to join as a coach for our youth program! A little bit about coach Jeff: He started running at the club level at the age of 10., competed in his first marathon at the age of 14 and ran track and XC in Junior High, High School, and College. As an adult, he is a Masters (masters are athletes 40+) All American Runner, Top 10 Worlds Masters Runner, and Masters 1500 National Champion in 2018. Currently he races in the USATF PA Cross Country Series. 

We're excited for the wealth of knowledge and experience he brings to the youth program!
