Story

Welcome to our team page!

Andrea and I are putting Team JCO together once again.   We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received over the years from our family and friends.  You have more than done your share in support of our cause, and we appreciate everything you have done on my behalf. Our family is hoping you might sign up to walk/run the event with us as we love to see everyone each year to celebrate life and friendship.

As for my present condition, I am currently receiving an immunotherapy drug once a month that is keeping the disease presently at a standstill.  How long it lasts, no one can say, but very happy for where I presently am at.

Thanks again for all of your kindness over the years and hope to see you at the event.

Wishing everyone happiness and good health.

Jeff

What is Multiple Myeloma?

Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells found in bone marrow.  Normal plasma cells help the immune system fight disease, but when plasma cells become cancerous they grow out of control and can produce a tumor called a plasmacytoma.  If someone has more than one plasmacytoma, they have multiple myeloma.

Why support this event?

Defeat Multiple Myeloma’s mission is to raise awareness of multiple myeloma while supporting research that seeks to discover new treatments, improve the quality of life for myeloma patients, and ultimately find a cure for this devastating form of cancer. Funds from the 2024 Defeat Multiple Myeloma event will continue to support immunotherapy research and clinical trials at Fred Hutch which are using CAR-T cells and have shown very promising early results for patients.
