I am supporting National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) with the 2023 Cool Beans Adventure. This event is a virtual challenge that raises awareness and support for people in our community impacted by kidney disease or organ transplantation. This year I will be logging 19 miles of activity between July 12 and the closing celebration on July 22. The number 19 represents the fact that only 1 in 9 people with kidney disease are aware of their condition. By catching kidney disease early, encouraging appropriate interventions, and increasing the availability of organs for transplant - we can help people in Wisconsin enjoy more healthy years.
