I remember every moment of Sept 11th, 2001 - was in Panama City Beach with all of my extended family. I have always bought merchandise and donated to the foundation when able, but when I found out that there was a walk near me, I was so excited to participate. I have always wanted to join the military like my dad and 2 Uncles, was so proud of all of them and their service to this country, but due to medical issues I was unable. {became a Registered nurse to do my part in helping others} My niece at 21 volunteered to go to Kandahar Afghanistan as a medic and my Dad is a retired policeman so I have always been aware of the tremendous sacrifice not only the Military member or first responder has to endure but the family and friends as well. I want to walk to support the Military and first responders, because they volunteer to do a job that is currently not supported by all people in this country, but they are protecting even those that disparage or wish ill will towards them -they protect all of us and they deserve our love, respect and support. That is why I am walking, to support the work Tunnels to Towers does to honor the sacrifice our brave men and women in military, fire, police, EMT and their families endure whether giving the ultimate sacrifice of life or returning with medical/psychological injury/illness. I appreciate how Tunnels to towers helps in so many ways the person or their family. The foundation is amazing and is the only charity I donate to because I so deeply believe in what they are doing. Will you please help me raise money for such a wonderful organization and to honor all those who serve and protect and help us!!
