This summer I had a fantastic internship experience with FitSteps for Life, the pioneer, and leader in cancer exercise treatment, prescribing individualized and structured exercise treatment plans specifically for cancer patients. FitSteps is also the only known community-based program that is provided free for the lifetime of the patient. Following my internship, I chose to continue working at FitSteps because I loved being able to leave a positive impact on patients and help them develop a passion and source of healing through exercise. As an organization, FitSteps for Life holds a Walk-A-Thon event annually to raise funds and awareness for the FitSteps for Life program. The benefits of exercise are of paramount importance to the cancer care continuum and as an advocate of the "Exercise is Medicine" movement, I am passionate about helping others understand the importance and benefit of physical activity for cancer patients.
Because cancer has impacted my life so profoundly, I am honored to be a part of an organization that continuously leaves a positive impact on cancer patients and supports them throughout their cancer journey. Please consider donating to my fundraiser in honor of those that have been impacted by cancer, those that are fighting, and those that we have lost.
Thank you!
