My name is Abby Young. I’m a proud American, originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and now a naturalized citizen. While I wasn’t able to serve in the military myself, I believe my service to this country is to give back in every way I can. As a teacher, I strive to be a role model for my students, showing them the importance of honoring and respecting those who have served to protect our freedoms. In addition to teaching, I created The Art of the Veteran Project, where my students interview local veterans and create artwork in their honor, ensuring their stories and sacrifices are never forgotten. This October, I’m taking on a 22-mile Ruck March to raise $500 in support of veteran suicide prevention and to help veterans live full, meaningful lives after service. Every step I take is to honor their sacrifices, save lives, and continue their legacy. Thank you so much for supporting this cause, your donation truly makes a difference.

I’m Abby Young, a proud American and teacher who believes in honoring and serving those who served our country. Though I couldn’t join the military myself, I give back by leading The Art of the Veteran Project, where my students create lasting tributes to local veterans. This November, I’m completing a 22-mile Ruck March to raise $500 for veteran suicide prevention and to help veterans live full, meaningful lives. Every donation supports this mission, honors their sacrifice, and inspires my students to value the freedoms we share.
