Brain injury is unpredictable in its consequences. Brain injury affects who we are and the way we think, act, and feel. It can change everything about us in a matter of seconds. The most important things to remember are:
- A person with a brain injury is a person first.
- No two brain injuries are exactly the same.
- The effects of a brain injury are complex and vary greatly from person to person.
- The effects of a brain injury depend on factors such as cause, location, and severity.
For over 39 years, BIAMD has been able to provide help, hope, and healing to Maryland's Brain Injury community. With the generous assistance of our supporters and volunteers, The Maryland Brain Injury Connection Center (1.800.221.6443) is able to provide resources, education, and assistance to Marylanders with a brain injury, their families, and the healthcare providers who serve them, all free of charge. With your help, BIAMD can and will continue to make a difference in the lives of many.
