I hope that you will be able to join me in supporting Community Conservation, an organization whose first project I researched in Belize way back in 1980s. (thus my choice to join Team Black Howler (monkeys)). That particular effort is still going strong under the leadership of a local women's cooperative, 40 years later! CC has since worked in many, many countries and with conservationists in villages around the world to protect biodiversity - such as in Nepal, where several communities are protecting their forests and wildlife. In your own backyard and around the world, communities make conservation happen.
Any help you can provide in reaching my donation goal for CC's annual Pedal, Paddle or Plod fundraiser would be greatly appreciated! So far, I've been able to log over 7 hours of activities in the first week; I hope to hit at least 15 hours by the end of the event on the 15th of August. And not all of it will be biking!
