Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to build confidence, connection, and life skills through a structured curriculum delivered by trained volunteer coaches. Our program reaches girls in grades 3 to 8 at a pivotal time, boosting their self-esteem and making an important connection between physical and emotional health. Through games, conversation and movement, participants are taught strategies to manage emotions, navigate friendships, make good decisions, and handle new challenges. The 8- or 10-week program culminates with the girls completing a community impact project and a celebratory 5K, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.
