I am excited to participate in the 37th Annual The Ben to the Shore, which supports the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation! This will be my 4th year riding! However this year I will join the team-DelCo 476ers! I’ve also made the decision to dedicate this year’s ride to fallen Officer John Wilding of the Scranton Police Dept. I met John during our DUI/SFST training.. he was extremely motivated to work and help the Scranton community. I remember him telling me Scranton PD was the only place he applied and sure enough he made it through. John sadly lost his life on July 12, 2015.. a day after a foot pursuit that resulted in severe injuries from a fall. The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.
