Thank you for your support through this fundraiser! Pads' mission means a great deal to me, because I see every day the difference we're making in the lives of our clients. Your donation can help us do the following things:
We can meet people who are homeless where they are. We have a team of three who literally goes out to meet people who are unsheltered on street corners, on benches, sleeping in cars and in forest preserves. This year, 310 people were helped through our Street Outreach team to either get into shelter or resolve their housing crisis through diversion practices.
We provided 135 Supportive Housing Units for people with disabilities who had been homeless, and 39 apartments for Rapid Rehousing. 17 of them are for survivors of domestic violence and their families.
This year, we provided 110,436 nights of shelter, and a whopping 331,308 meals. And we did it in our own space--space that we have because we bought a Red Roof Inn, and repurposed it into our Interim Housing Center. Your support of our Great Descent event will give our families and individuals a safe bed, a SHOWER, and a meal.
We serve 182 families in our programs. 60% of the families in our IHC program have moved into stable apartments or rental homes of their own! And 136 were connected to school!
