Hello! My name is Crystal and my mom has been battling Leiomyosarcoma since September 2023. You always hear stories of others with cancer, but you don't realize how many different kinds there are, or how rare and aggressive they can be until it happens to you or someone you love. Sarcoma, in particular, was one I had never heard of until my mom was diagnosed. It came out of no where and flipped our world upside down. 

My moms faith, strength, and courage throughout her diagnoses has inspired me to run not only for her, but for those who physically can't fight this battle in the same way. This will be my second year driving to Austin to run the Sarcoma 5k for my mom. If you're able to support, whether by donating, or simply praying for those who are fighting a sarcoma, it would truly mean a lot.

Thanks to the Race to Cure Sarcoma events, SFA has funded over 200 grants in 12 countries leading to close to 200 total publications, adding to the sarcoma research discourse.
