Birchtree transforms the lives of individuals with autism and other diverse abilities in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. Thirty-seven public school districts rely on Birchtree’s expertise, sending students to Birchtree’s day school and/or bringing Birchtree experts into their public schools. Birchtree serves 600+ individuals per year, including students, family members, and school staff.

Our staff travels 100,000+ miles per year to help students with autism, related disabilities, and behavioral challenges succeed in their local public schools and in our community.

For students who need even more intensive support, Birchtree’s day school in Portsmouth is the only year-round school in New Hampshire that serves students with autism exclusively. Students travel up to 80 minutes each way every day to attend this individualized program. It's staffed by autism experts known for helping students with significant behavioral and communication challenges.
