💙 **My USH1C Story** 💙
I was born deaf, and at the age of 8, I was diagnosed with USH1C. At the time, I was too young to really understand what my diagnosis meant or how it could affect my future. For years, it was simply something I knew I had, but I didn't truly understand it.
Then, in July 2026, everything changed.
I was blessed with the opportunity to attend USHthis Camp in Napa, California, with the incredible support of Ava's Voice and Mia's USH Mission.
For the first time, I was surrounded by people who truly understood what it was like to live with USH1C. I realized something I had never fully understood before:
I am not alone.
There are so many kids and families just like me. Being at camp allowed me to meet others who share my journey, ask questions, make friendships, and learn so much about USH1C that I never knew before.
I learned more about my diagnosis, my future, and most importantly, how to keep living my life to the fullest. Camp gave me hope, confidence, and a community where I felt understood.
That experience is why I am starting this fundraiser.
I want to help other kids like me have the opportunity to learn, connect, explore, and realize that they are not alone.
Every child deserves the chance to meet someone who understands them, to learn about their diagnosis, and to see that USH1C doesn't have to define their future.
If my fundraiser can help even one child experience what I experienced at USHthis Camp, then it will be worth it.
💙 Help me give another kid the chance to find their people, discover their strength, and realize they are never alone.
Thank you for supporting my journey and helping me give back to the USH community! 💙
