The Island Autism Group (IAG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the lifelong independence and happiness of autistic individuals and their families on Martha’s Vineyard. We bridge a critical gap in local services, ensuring that neurodiverse Islanders have the resources they need to thrive within their own community throughout every stage of life.
We provide year-round therapeutic programs alongside life-skills enrichment and vocational training. Our landmark 7.5-acre project, the Island Autism Center & Farm in West Tisbury, serves as our community anchor. With the completion of the Hub House, we now offer a permanent home for day programming, featuring a commercial kitchen and a micro-farm.
As we move into the next phase, our focus is on building a supportive residential neighborhood. This initiative will provide affordable, on-island housing for adults, allowing families to stay together on the Vineyard rather than being forced to seek care off-island. By fostering a "ripple effect" of inclusion and support, IAG is building a future where every individual on the spectrum can lead a productive, connected, and meaningful life.
For many families on Martha's Vineyard, an autism diagnosis comes with a lingering fear: "What happens when the school bus stops coming?"
The Island Autism Group exists to answer that question. We believe that autism is a lifelong journey that deserves lifelong support. Our story is one of community-led action. We have already completed Phase One of our vision: the Hub House, a vibrant center for vocational training, therapeutic arts, and micro-farming.
But our work isn't finished. We are now racing toward Phase Two: the construction of supportive residential housing.
