The Kennerly family are former Churchill Residents, having lived here for eleven years Their son Christian attended Churchill, Plank and Oswego East High School. Sadly after going off to college, Christian took his own life in 2018 at the all too young age of 19. The Kennerly family is using their Scholarship fund to help promote suicide awareness and to help keep Christian's memory alive. Money they raise has gone to provide custom jersey's to Oswego East's Boys Bowling team, pay for an end of year banquet, pay for fees and equipment. It also provides two full scholarships for a week at the US Space and Rocket Center's Aviation Challenge program in Huntsville Alabama. Both of these were passions of Christian.
The mission statement of their non-for profit is to help never forget Christian's last words typed into his phone "Please Remember, everyone is facing their own fight. Reach out to people, Everybody wants to seem interested, but nobody wants to talk"
