As a Pediatric Epilepsy Nurse Practictioner, I already had a reason to support this organization. But, as many already know, my reason grew even bigger just a few short months ago when our daughter Evie was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 3 months old (De novo KCNA6). Even with the special knowledge and experience I have, it didn't change what my family and I were going through or the battle Evie will continue to face as she grows. She is doing well, thanks to the amazing neurology providers and team at Cincinnati Children's, who we are forever grateful for. Although her journey has just begun, and given the little research currently available on KCNA6, it's unclear how her future may look, but we are so very hopeful. She's already surrounded by so much love and support! 💜
