We opened our doors on March 19th, 2020. It will forever be remembered in TFG history as the day before our state shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Difficult times where we felt we could be an asset to our community. We moved to South Salem in 2018 and wanted to dig our roots in this small town. A coffee shop had always been a dream of mine and together we made this dream a reality.

We want The Farmer’s Grind to feel like home. Our town has so much to provide and now you don’t need to travel far for fresh produce, baked goods and amazing coffee! Shopping local brings a sense of community and there is something to be said about putting a face to the product. Each product has a story. Our vendors are hardworking individuals who makes a living providing food for our town. It truly is incredible!

Coffee is a huge part of our lives. I come from an Italian family where coffee is more than just a caffeine boost. It is the center of our family gatherings, it is the start to a beautiful morning, and it is the perfect pairing with a sweet treat after a meal. This is important for us to share that experience with others.

You will hear Erich say frequently, “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.” At times you may only see one of us at the shop, but that is because this is not our only adventure together. We are fulfilling our other passions. I am a Pediatric Surgical PA and Erich is a fireman for NYC. There are some rough days and long hours but we love helping others and would not trade it for anything.

The Farmer’s Grind is continuing to grow and it is really amazing to see our dreams unfold into all that TFG is and will be. We hope you find as much love in our shop as we do. We hope to see you sipping coffee soon.
