Did you know you can't buy pads or tampons with SNAP/Food Stamps or WIC?
Team Dignity Matters is running the 2025 Boston 10K for Women to help homeless women manage their periods with dignity. Every $36 you donate provides a woman a year of free menstrual care!
There's NO state or federal programs that help women in Massachusetts afford menstrual care. These items are expensive and rarely donated, so thousands face a difficult choice: use unhygienic alternatives like rags and toilet paper, or stay home and miss school and work. Lack of access to menstrual care is a “deal breaker:" regardless of the other resources available to them, women and girls cannot stay healthy and thrive without reliable access to menstrual care.
Dignity Matters is the largest nonprofit provider of free menstrual care and undergarments in Massachusetts. They help 18,000 women live with dignity every month - and for most of them, they are their only reliable source of these items. They partner with 180 nonprofit organizations (including shelters, food pantries, and schools) to make menstrual care accessible where these women live.
Dignity Matters gives women the dignity of choice: they decide the size and style of menstrual care and undergarments they are comfortable using. And Dignity Matters makes a year-long commitment to each woman and partner so they know they will have these items every month. Every item is donated by their community, or purchased with your financial contributions - and they stretch your dollar to support more women by using a manufacturing contract to buy items at wholesale prices. Every $3 gives a woman a month of menstrual care.
Thank you for supporting Team Dignity Matters at the 2025 Boston 10K for Women!
