For over 50 years, The Maria L. Baldwin Community Center has served the Cambridge community with core programs and services that have evolved over time in response to evershifting community needs.  As an agency, we prioritize supporting the most vulnerable members of our community with an emphasis on children, families, and older adults.  We provide a range of holistic support aimed at meeting families’ intersecting needs for multigenerational mental health support and overall wellness; trauma-informed childcare; access to affordable housing, food, and basic necessities; financial security; and a strong sense of belonging in the community.

Our mission is to be a place that nurtures individual growth and creativity, builds connections, and serves as a forum for community advocacy.  We believe in: welcoming and including everyone; lifelong learning; and fostering a culture of creativity and cooperation.

Our Impact:

As a community center, fostering a strong sense of belonging is the heart of our work.  We strive to be advocates and partners to our families and build up everyone who comes here, no matter what unique challenges they may arrive with.  We have built trusting relationships with our community over the course of three generations.  Because of this, people look to our organization as a safe place where they can go to find helpful information, bring their kids, ask for help, connect with friends, meet new people, and explore their creativity.
