My name is Andrew Staruk. I am a firefighter with the Worcester Fire Department and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. For the past 5 years I have organized my department’s participation in an event at the TD Garden in Boston called the Bfit Challenge.
As a committee member for the event, working in conjunction with the Boston Bruins Foundation, we are able to provide fun-filled day for First Responders and the community-at-large. This event brings together Police, Fire, Military, EMT’s and their communities from across New England to SUPPORT and CELEBRATE First Responders and Military Charities. Our goal is to raise awareness around health, wellness, and fitness of first responders. This is a fundraiser not a Fitness competition.
Even the smallest donation makes a BIG difference. Please note that 100% of the money raised goes directly to first responder and military charities.
The Boston Bruins Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists charitable organizations that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children and families throughout New England.

LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS: Line of Duty deaths increased over 50% since last year
EMS WORKERS: 80%-100% are exposed to traumatic events and are 20% more likely to have PTSD
MILITARY VETERANS: have a 50% higher risk of suicide then those who did not serve.
We have chosen The 100 Club of Massachusetts to be our host charity. The 100 Club makes an unequivocal and unconditional promise to the firefighters and police officers serving the Commonwealth that if any of them would lose their lives in the line of duty, the Club will compassionately care for their surviving families for the rest of their lives, The Clubs motto is “We care for those who care for us”. They do this by providing financial support, holding events, and offering an emotional network. The Club takes pride in making a personal connection with all of our beneficiary families. This bond is reaffirmed by on-going communication with the beneficiaries and the knowledge that the Club stands with them and will never forget their sacrifices or their lost loved ones.
