Seeds of Caring empowers kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. They do this by designing meaningful opportunities for kids to engage in service, social action, and community-building. As kids learn about hunger in our community, make blankets for hospitalized children, or share conversation with seniors, they build confidence in their ability to contribute. In the end, we all benefit: our kids develop a heart for service, our families are united by a common purpose, and our community becomes a more compassionate place to live, work, and grow.

In 2020 alone, Seeds of Caring kids have:

Volunteered almost 3,000 hours of their time
Volunteered over 9,000 with their families
Met critical community needs of 27 non-profit partner organizations
Provided 10,000+ sack lunches for hungry and homeless neighbors, decorated and packed by Columbus kids
Created over 400 Summer Fun Kits for food pantries
100% of donations raised will go directly to empower more kids to choose kindness and know that they can always make a difference in their community.

Communities In Schools of Central Ohio
For 14.5 million children in America living in poverty, challenges outside the classroom, like the lack of adequate food, clothing, shelter, and health care, can stand in the way of success inside the classroom. At Communities In Schools, we work in schools to remove those barriers by building one-on-one relationships and providing integrated student supports to at-risk students, that empower them to stay in school and succeed in life. Whether it is clean clothes, help with school work, or emotional support to help a child cope with and recover from a traumatic event, we connect students with the relationships and resources they need to succeed.

During COVID-19, CIS has been on the frontlines of this crisis providing everything from food, basic household supplies, personal hygiene items, education support, internet access, and emotional support to students and families in some of our most vulnerable populations. All monies donated to CIS will go directly to supporting students as they head “back to school” to keep providing these critical wrap-around services and supports to help kids succeed in school and achieve in life.
