Description

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026, for the Inaugural Habitat Hustle 5K and Fun Run, benefiting gopher tortoise conservation and research efforts at Gulf State Park. Whether you’re as fast as a hare or as steady as a tortoise, every step you take helps support the protection of Alabama’s only native tortoise species! And who knows... there just might be a gopher tortoise cheering you on while you cross the finish line!

Fun educational booths will be set up, so bring your friends and family to cheer you on and discover more about gopher tortoises and their unique habitat!

**5K and Fun Run participants must register by 2/11/2026 to receive a free T-shirt**

**Limited number of shirts will be available for purchase day of race**

5K Divisions

10 & under; 11-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers.

Race Day Schedule

7:00 am: Race Day Registration Opens/ Packet Pickup

8:45 am: Registration Ends

9:00 am: 5K

9:30 am: Fun Run

10:00 am: Educational Activities Begin

10:15 am: 5K Awards

11:30 am: Event Ends

5k Route: Orange Beach Sportsplex, Twin Bridges Trail, Catman Trail, Cross Park Trail, and Gulf Oak Ridge Trail.
