NEW ENGLAND FIREFIGHTER CANCER FUND (NEFFCF)
The PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS OF MASSACHUSETTS Foundation has started The New England Firefighter Cancer Fund (NEFFCF).  The mission of The NEFFCF is to help the fire fighters of New England fight the growing epidemic of Fire Fighter Cancer.  Early detection is the best way to fight cancer.  Money you raise will go directly to fighting cancer for fire fighters of your state.
The Facts:  The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health undertook two large studies focused on firefighter cancer:  Between Jan.1, 2002 and March 31, 2017, 61 percent of career firefighter line-of-duty deaths occurred as a result of cancer, compared to 18 percent from heart disease in the same time frame. Furthermore, in 2016, that number rose to 70 percent.
