One hundred percent of the donations made through this website will go directly toward the care of Sam Creech.
Sam is a vibrant 12-year-old boy fighting a rare genetic condition, Haploinsufficiency A20 (HA20), that causes his immune system to attack his organs and bones. As a result, Sam has nonmalignant bone lesions that are very painful and arthritis. In addition to his bones being affected, his GI tract, lungs, and skin are affected. Left untreated, it can cause organ failure and bone fractures. There is no cure for this disease and research is still being done to understand better how to achieve remission. For the last two years, Sam has traveled multiple times a month to Duke University Hospital with his mom where he is under the care of six specialists. They are collaborating with a researcher in Pittsburgh who discovered the gene mutation & disease.
