IntSam Global 5K

The IntSam Global 5K is a free event that brings people together to race with other communities across the world. The race can be run from anywhere in the world, any time between October 13th and November 6th, 2023. For this 5K version of the event, you can walk, run, hike, take your dog or a group of friends – the race is yours!

The primary goal of the race is to raise awareness and fundraise for scholarships for students living in garbage dump communities around the world. How many scholars do you think your team can support?

In 2021, Mihretu, one of our Ethiopian scholars, set an incredible time of 14:37 for his 5K -- a time so blisteringly fast that he was invited to run for the country of Ethiopia. In honor of his accomplishment, we've created a relay version of the IntSam Global 5K. We invite you to form relay teams of 5 people to see if, together, you can beat his record!

As this is a relay, you will not be able to register for this event solo - you will be prompted to create or join a team. Contact your team captain with questions or contact our race coordinator at tucker@intsam.org.
