2021 VIRTUAL CATERPILLAR WALK/RUN FOR FIBROMYALGIA

Tue April 6 - Mon May 31 newark, NJ 07030 US

Event: Virtual Caterpillar Walk for Fibromyalgia

As communities across the country and around the world face the COVID-19 Pandemic, it has been clear that the disparities faced by underserved and orphan communities have been exacerbated by the pandemic. This is also true for the fibromyalgia community. There is so much we are learning about COVID-19 and the longstanding health, economic, community, and social impacts will undoubtedly weigh heavily on those living with fibromyalgia.

Today, the FCSA is committing to help mitigate the social impact COVID-19 will have on our community by introducing fibromyalgia specific virtual town halls, work groups, and gathering to bring our community together during this time. We will launch on with a virtual town hall meeting so that we can build a virtual response based on your input. We are also working to empower and further the work of our Fibro Youth Advocates who will be hosting a web series designed to connect young people living with or affected by fibromyalgia.

We are also launching our Virtual Walk Program which historically has been geared at raising awareness, education, funds and building community. This year the need to build, unite, and strengthen our community is more desperately needed than ever before. As such, we are working on launching a virtual walk to take place on Saturday, May 9th and a Virtual Toast on May 12th to celebrate Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
