The 38th Annual Dog Days Run
On October 26th, 2019, the University of Florida’s chapter of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) is hosting the 38th Annual Dog Days Run benefiting Created Gainesville. This event includes a 5K race, a one-mile “fun run," a raffle, and other contests.
The 5K begins at 8AM at Westside Park with a one mile "fun run" taking place at 9AM. Dogs are encouraged to participate. Please, no female dogs “in heat.” Dogs must be leashed at all times and are required to wear current rabies tags.
The Dog Days Run is a major affair for the Gainesville community as it attracts runners and dog lovers from all over the state. It provides exposure to Gainesville, the veterinary community, the University of Florida, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and event sponsors.
Four overall winners: 1st male, 1st female, 1st dog over 45lb, 1st dog under 45lb. Additional prizes will be announced on our Dog Days Run Facebook page!
All proceeds go to Created Gainesville (createdgainesville.com).
Free race T-shirt (guaranteed if complete registration by September 28, 2019).
Free drinks and snacks for participants.
All registrants entered into raffle (winners must be present to collect prizes).
Additional tickets will be available, and donations are appreciated.
Walkers are welcome. Costumes (dog and owner) are encouraged!
