Description
You know you've been waiting all year for this crazy race to return. It's the sweetest 3 mile run of the year. If you haven't heard of it before, it's a combination race and eating contest. Chose between the individual 12 donut 3 mile challenge on your own or get three of your closest friends and just eat four donuts each and run a mile each in the team challenge. In addition to a one of kind event, proceeds from the race go to support The One Fund Boston, Inc. established to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
How Does It Work?
You will run a total of three miles and eat a total of a dozen donuts. When the starting gun goes off each runner must eat four donuts and then runs the first mile. After the first mile and again after the second each runner eats four more donuts. Once all the donuts are eaten its a mile dash to the finish line.
How Do The Teams Work?
Teams will have three runners. Each team runner will eat four donuts and run one mile as part of the three miles and dozen donuts. Teams can be all male, all female, or coed.
Is There A Kids Race?
And there is even a one mile kids race. The kids eat two to four donuts depending on their age and then take off on their own mile dash to the finish.
Are There Awards?
Awards will be given as follows:
Top 10 Individual Men
Top 10 Individual Women
Top 3 Team Men
Top 3 Team Women
Top 3 Team Coed
Are There Shirts?
Shirts will be available for purchase (stay tuned for details) but are not included in the race registration amount.
Can I Run Without Eating Donuts?
Sure, we hear you. This year we set up a special option to skip the donuts ahd help other people in the process. By donating $50 to The One Fund Boston, Inc., which was established to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013, you can skip the donuts. The only catch is you have to wait to start the race until the first person of your gender completes the first mile, then you just run three straight miles without eating a single donut. This option is open to individuals only. See the donation page for more details.
