Gulf Coast Runner Scholarship 2021

Dear Student/Coach:

The Gulf Coast Runners would like to assist and reward seniors involved in your running programs by providing them with academic scholarship grants for 2020-21. Students who apply for the Gulf Coast Runner Scholarship will have the chance to earn dollars towards their college/university/military or trade school education. Just have them respond to the application. Gulf Coast Runners has provided more than $500,000 over the last 26 years to local high school student athletes.

Minimum qualifications include at least a two-year involvement with running during high school cross country or track (minimum distance of 1600). In addition to the student's involvement with running, the scholarship committee pays particular attention to the student's degree of community involvement, some involvement with Gulf Coast Runners, commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and academic potential. We are not necessarily looking for the best or fastest runners; what we look for is evidence of the student's enthusiasm for running. Financial need is a consideration.

All finalists may be interviewed by members of the Gulf Coast Runners Scholarship Committee. Awards will be presented at the High School Scholarship Presentation and students will be honored at the annual Tropicool Race on May 8, 2021 in downtown Naples.
