Miles for Moyo: A 5-Day Journey for Furry Friends

Join our virtual challenge from October 1-5, 2024, and turn your miles into support for stray animals in Puerto Rico!

The Challenge:
Moyo Village invites you to participate in "Miles for Moyo: A 5-Day Journey for Furry Friends." Set a personal mileage goal and be part of our collective mission to log 1,000 miles and raise $3,500 for animal rescue efforts.

How It Works:

• Register and set your personal mileage goal
• Complete your miles anytime, anywhere from October 1-5, 2024
• Log your daily miles through RunSignUp's tracking features
• Engage with our community through daily themes and photo challenges
• You can use any form of non-motorized transport: walking, running, cycling, or swimming.
• Go outside or use a treadmill - there are no set requirements. Just have fun and make a difference!

Mile Conversion:

• 1 mile walking/running = 1 mile
• 3 miles cycling = 1 mile
• 1 mile swimming = 3 miles

Highlights:

• 5-day virtual distance challenge
• Interactive tracking with RunSignUp
• Digital milestone badges
• Optional fundraising to amplify your impact (suggested goal: $50 per participant)
• All proceeds support Moyo Village's animal rescue work in Puerto Rico

Registration:

• Fee: $35 per individual
• Period: September 15-30, 2024

Daily Themes & Photo Challenges:

Day 1 (Monday): "Every Mile Matters" (Kickoff)
Theme: Importance of each participant's contribution
Photo Challenge: "Your Starting Line" - Share a photo of your starting point, whether it's with a pet, a scenic view, or just you ready to begin

Day 2 (Tuesday): "Paws and Paths"
Theme: Spotlight on rescue dogs and cats
Photo Challenge: "Furry Friends and Scenic Bends" - Share a photo of any animals you encounter OR a beautiful scene from your route
Share before-and-after stories of rescued animals

Day 3 (Wednesday): "Miles with Meaning"
Theme: Connect your local efforts to the broader impact in Puerto Rico
Photo Challenge: "Midweek Motivation" - Share what's keeping you going (pets, views, supporters, etc.)

Day 4 (Thursday): "Volunteer Valor and Vistas"
Theme: Highlight Moyo Village volunteers and their experiences
Photo Challenge: "Team Moyo Spirit" - Wear blue or create a Moyo sign for your activity photo

Day 5 (Friday): "Finish Line for Furry Friends"
Theme: Final push and celebration
Photo Challenge: "Celebration Snapshot" - Share a photo commemorating your final miles

Virtual Results:

• Complete your miles between October 1-5, 2024
• Upload your results via the RunSignUp website or app
• Celebrate your achievement and the impact you've made!
• Participants must report their miles using the RunSignUp platform no later than 11:59 PM, October 5, 2024, to be included in the final tally.
