Champaign County's poverty rate is estimated at 20.2% -- higher than Cook County's by 15%. The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is currently set at $25, 750 per year for a family of four. 1 in 5 children in Eastern Illinois struggles with hunger. 1 in every 3 clients served by the foodbank is a child.
