FCancer Race

Everyone knows someone touched by Cancer, so you know what?? FCANCER! Let all get together and run for a cause that has touched so many. This race is to benefit the children of my dear friend Rebecca Dahl who was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was eleven weeks pregnant with her fourth child. She received eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiation after a right sided mastectomy. Baby Ezekiel, was born healthy and then Rebecca received seven more weeks of chemotherapy and more radiation.

Approximately three years later her cancer came back but this time it was in her bones. She continued to fight and received more chemotherapy and radiation but sadly the cancer was too aggressive and she passed on Friday, September 21st 2018 surrounded by her children and loving family. Rebecca not only touched my life but so many other lives. Wherever she went she was loved, her light just shined so bright. She was definitely one of gods angles, and he has called her home. She leaves behind four beautiful children, and left us all saying "FCancer!"

I decided to organize a charity race in her name, the "FCancer" 5K/10K, one hundred percent of the race profits will go directly to her children.

The Inaugural race was a huge success! On Saturday Feb 23, 2019 we raised over $11,000.00 for Rebecca's kids, and I would like to raise even more than that at the 2020 race! I would love to be aboe to set up a college fund for her kids.

Runners mark your calendars! The date has been set for February, 22, 2020. Let see how much we can raise for her beautiful kids, while keeping Rebecca's memory alive in our hearts.

The race will start and finish by the beautiful Ventura Pier. Runners will run an easy out and back course along the beach promenade, surfers point and the along the Emma Wood Bike bath. Runners are treated to beach views for the entire run. Water stops every 1.5 miles. Bathrooms at the start and finish area.  

Other Details/Fine Print: The race will be professionally chip timed, with water stops ever 1.5 miles. Every runner will receive a beautiful custom finisher medal of the race logo, race shirt, post race party with food, plus 2 raffle tickets for some awesome prizes. Additional raffle tickets will also be available for purchase. We plan to have some great prizes to raffle off!

Runners and walkers welcome, as well as strollers and dogs.  No refunds, but transfers are allowed. This is a rain or shine event. There will also be an option to add an extra donation to your registration.

Bib Pickup:
Friday February 21nd From 4-7 p.m.
Mile 26 Sports 2222 E Thompson Blvd, Ventura, CA 93001 (You can also pick your bib up on race morning, Starting at 6:30 a.m.)
