This race is held by the Lakeland Runners Club, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to promote running and fitness for people of all ages and abilities in the community.
Embody the incredible spirit of our community with the 2021 edition of the Mayfaire 5k shirt and medal. Celebrate 42 years of the Mayfaire 5k with a run or walk from downtown Lakeland through the historic Lake Morton district.
Our mission as a nonprofit organization is to promote and encourage running. One of the wonderful ways the LRC does this is by producing races that celebrate competition and fellowship. We are optimistic we can hold a race that places the safety of our participants, volunteers, and our community at the forefront.
The first Mayfaire 5k was held on May 10, 1980. There were 64 entrants, and the winner was Mike Wachholz of Jacksonville, FL who finished in 14:00.
