Description
The Zarzaur Law Sea Turtle Triathlon is held annually the first Sunday of October. The 2024 event will be on Sunday, October 6th.
The event is held on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Pensacola Beach, Florida. The event features a full triathlon experience for children from 6 to 15 years old while friends and family cheer them on. With a fully supported event on a closed course, safety and encouragement from volunteers complement the excitement of children becoming triathletes.
The swim course is held in the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico followed by scenic bike and run courses. Both are an out and back along Highway 399 which is closed to vehiclar traffic during the event. Every athlete will receive a finisher medal. Custom age group awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placement in each age group.
We offer a Youth Triathlon Clinic on Saturday September 2nd from 8am-11am to teach athletes the fundamentals of strength training, swim, bike and run. The cost is $25 for this clinic. Visit the registration page click HERE.
Race Distances
A youth athlete races according to "USAT age." This means that they will race the age they will be as of DECEMBER 31, 2024. For example, if your child is 9 years old and they turn 10 on November 3rd, 2024 (after the race) they will race as a ten year old.

6:00am Race day packet pick-up opens

7:55am National Anthem
8:00am Start of WAVES with 2 minute intervals between waves
8:20am Last wave enters water
9:30am Transition re-opens and bikes removed
10:00am Awards Ceremony on race site
