Christmas Without Cancer NFP
All money raised will allow Christmas Without Cancer to continue their mission of helping southland families battling the devastation of cancer.

Christmas Without Cancer (CWC) is a local 501(c)3 NFP that was started 20 years ago by an oncology nurse, Gerri Neylon. Gerri was moved by the struggles of families that are undergoing cancer treatments and the toll it takes on these families emotionally, physically, and financially. The organization began by "adopting" a family affected by cancer during the Christmas season and CWC would provide the family with gifts and gift cards to offset their financial struggles.
Unfortunately, cancer strikes families at any time and help is needed daily. The goal of CWC is to help families, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year. When a family member has a cancer diagnosis, there is always a loss of income that effects the entire family. Since founding, CWC has helped thousands of local southland families. 2022 was a record year for CWC. Through the support of many, CWC was able to help 361 families throughout the year and 74 families at Christmas through:
$13,850 in gift cards for gas, medications & groceries
$233,195.93 in financial assistance for mortgage/rent, tuition & Household expenses
$88,572.46 in providing much needed joy
CWC will be hosting our 9th Annual 5k Run/ Walk on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at Circle Park in Evergreen Park, IL. Participants will be able to sign up on our website. Our hope is to collect funds that will enable us to continue our mission of helping families fighting this disease during challenging times. We are asking for your assistance to achieve our goal with your sponsorship or in-kind donation. Any donation you or your company could make would be greatly appreciated.
