Registration Open for September 13 Hub City Half Marathon and 5K Run
Hometown Happenings will host the Hub City Half Marathon and 5K Run on Sunday, September 13t at 8a.m. at Sauerman Woods in Crown Point, IN. This out and back, chip timed 13.1 mile race and 5K race will wind through some of the city's finest residential neighborhoods, touting some of the nostalgic history and legendary visitors of this small, home town city.
Included in the entry fee for the all half marathon participants is a Hub City Half Marathon Finishers Medal. Participants who register by September 6th will receive a wicking shirt. Awards will be given to top overall, top master (40+) & top 3 finishers in each age group. Water, Gatorade and Powerbar gels will be offered at stations along the course. The race finishes with refreshments, music from DJ Donnie and a live performance by Ashleigh Ashton, voted the 2014 Artist of the Year by the Chicago Independent Music Awards.
Half marathon entry fee is $65 through August 15th. After August 16 and on race day, entry fee is $75. The 5K entry fee is $30 through September 9th. After September 9th and on race day, the entry fee is $40. $5 and $10 discounts are available to those participating on behalf of a charity.
