Description
The White Lake Half is renowned for being one of the fastest HALF courses in the United States, attracting athletes seeking to achieve their personal best. The race kicks off and concludes at The Grand Regal at Goldston's Beach, nestled in the heart of White Lake, NC. Participants will dive into the stunningly clear waters of White Lake for the swim leg, followed by a brisk bike ride along a flat, two-loop course on speedy roads. The run portion offers a double out-and-back route, also on flat, fast roads, with partial shading to keep runners cool and comfortable.
White Lake, located in Southeastern North Carolina, is not just a race destination but also a picturesque resort community offering a myriad of attractions and amenities. From camping and RV facilities to diverse dining options ranging from breakfast spots to seafood joints, visitors can indulge in a variety of experiences. Water enthusiasts can enjoy jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, and other water sports, while accommodations including apartments, cottages, hotels, and motels offer lakefront and non-lakefront options.
What sets White Lake apart is its pristine sandy bottom and crystal-clear waters, thanks to the subterranean springs that feed it. Dubbed "The Nation's Safest Beach," White Lake is a haven for families with its absence of currents, tides, or hazardous depressions. Whether spending an active day on the beaches or enjoying leisurely moments in the cool shade, visitors are sure to find relaxation and recreation in equal measure. Additionally, White Lake takes pride in hosting the annual "White Lake Water Festival," a beloved event held every third weekend in May.
Join us for the White Lake Half on Saturday of race weekend and experience the thrill of racing in this idyllic setting.
Note: The White Lake Spring International and the White Lake Spring Sprint will be conducted on Sunday (Grand Regal @ Goldsten's Beach)
