Description

Everyone is invited to join The Crawford Crew at McNamara Park in Galena, on Sunday morning, August 6th, for the 6th annual Strength in Colors 5K & KIDS DASH supporting cancer survivors and raising awareness for HPV-related cancer prevention. In person and virtual registration options are available. The Crawford Crew’s mission is to end HPV-related cancers and we need your help to achieve this goal! Proceeds raised will be donated to nonprofits who share in our mission and will help to fund our education and outreach programs plus, our new Patient Support Program, providing patients being treated in Columbus with nutrition and transportation support.

Health Fair: Healthcare experts and community-based organizations will be onsite to answer HPV-related and cancer prevention questions. Various education materials will be available plus we’ll have door prizes and swag for all.

Race Day Timeline

8:30 AM - Race day packet pickup and registration opens at the McNamara Park shelter. Health Fair opens at this time as well.
9:35 AM -  Adam King, Sports Anchor, WBNS 10TV Welcome followed by pre-race warm-up with Heather Sanislo
9:45 AM - Kids Dash Begins!
10:00 AM - The 5K is underway!
11:00 AM - Awards & Announcements (Health fair close)
11:15 AM - Lunch provided by QDOBA

Registration, Pricing and Swag

IN-PERSON 5K
● Thru July 1- $35
● July 2 thru August 5th - $40
● Race day - $45
● ATTENTION GROUPS: To receive a discount code for groups of 10+ please email
Allie@thecrawfordcrew.org with your group name, the number of participants,
and a name and mobile number for the group contact person.

VIRTUAL 5K
● $45 (includes shipping)
● Register by July 15th to receive bib, and participation award prior to race day
● Reporting virtual results (optional) is available here on the race website between August 6 and August 13. To report results during that time frame, click the results tab at the top of this page and then click the "Submit Virtual Results" button.

KIDS DASH (recommended for ages 8 and under)
● Thru July 1 - FREE
● July 2 thru race day - $10

VIRTUAL KIDS DASH
● $10 (includes shipping)

SWAG
All participants registered by July 3rd will receive a boco running hat (see below).
Participants who register July 4th or later will be offered a boco running hat on a first
come-first served basis while supplies last.
All participants will receive a finisher award.

SHIPPING (For Virtual Participants ONLY)
All virtual participants will have materials mailed to them on Monday, August 7. Please note that virtual 5K registrants who are registered by 11:59 PM on July 1 are guaranteed an event branded gift, and virtual Kid's Dash registrants who register by 11:59 PM on July 1, will have their event branded gift mailed to them on August 7.

Early Packet Pickup

Early packet pickup for in-person participants will take place at Columbus Running Company's Westerville location (50 N State St, Westerville, OH 43081) on Friday, August 4 from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday, August 5 from 10 am to 6 pm. Packet pickup is also available on race morning at the race site - McNamara Park. Virtual participants, your items will be mailed out on August 7 to your door (as detailed in the "shipping" section above).

Parking

There are two main parking areas at McNamara Park. The first is on the west side of the park at the shelter building (noted in yellow below). These lots are accessed off of Big Walnut Rd behind the Genoa Township building. The second is on the east side of the park by the barn (noted in red below). This lot is accessed off of S Old 3C Rd just north of Big Walnut Rd.

FAQs

Q: What ages are welcome and can I bring my dog?
A: This family and canine friendly fundraiser is for all ages and fitness levels. Canines are
welcome and must be on a leash at all times.

Q: What are HPV-related cancers?
A: HPV-related cancers include Oral, Head & Neck, Anal, Penile, Cervical, Vaginal & Vulvar. For reference the awareness colors are:
● Cervical-Teal
● Anal – Purple & Green
● Oral, Head, and Neck - Burgundy
● Penile – Light blue
● Vulvar & Vaginal - Purple

Q: Is the event rain or shine?
A: Yes.

Q: Where do I go when I get to the park?
A: Go to the park shelter and look for volunteers and signs directing you to check-in.
If you have pre-registered, look for the sign marked “Pre-Registered”. You will be given your
event gift item if you registered before July 3rd, the event race bib, and swag bag filled with
items from our sponsors and donors. If you are not pre-registered, look for the sign that says
“Registration”. As you check in you will be given a race bib, a swag bag filled with items from sponsors, and an early bird gift if you registered by July 3rd.
