Lisa’s Army Pumpkins in the Park 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

Each year Lisa's Army holds the Lisa's Army Pumpkins in the Park 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk to raise funds for our signature Comfort Care Packages. The event brings together families and friends to enjoy the Fall weather in for Halloween Fun in memory of Lisa Loonstyn-Golden, who loved Halloween. This is our 11th annual 5K for Lisa's Army!

Lisa, was 20 when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Lisa saw and experienced the devastating physical and mental toll that cancer inflicts on those suffering from the disease and wanted to help comfort those going through this ordeal. Amidst her own battle with cancer, Lisa began to leave small gifts for those she saw struggling.

Lisa believed that everyone battling cancer needs encouragement and comfort, so, with the help of her family and friends, Lisa’s Army was formed. It is an organization dedicated to comforting those with cancer. The goal of Lisa's Army is to make a difference in the world just like Lisa was able to accomplish in her short time with us. Now, we continue to spread comfort in her name and invite you to join our Army!

This year our event will take place on October 5, 2024 in Rose Tree County Park.

Please wear your race shirt or your costume, bring your family to the beautiful park and playground for kids games, pumpkin picking, face painting, and crafts. Enjoy a fall day with your family in honor of those battling cancer.

Back by popular demand - The Inflatable 200 Meter Race! Grab your inflatable costume, and join us before the 5K for the Lisa's Army 200 Meter Inflatable Costume Run! Select this registration option when you register for the 5K or one mile walk! A special prize will to to the winner of our first inflatable run!

NEW THIS YEAR - The Doggie Walk

Bring your furry friends in supporting a great cause while enjoying a scenic walk or run. Whether you have a Great Dane or a Chihuahua, all breeds are welcome to strut their stuff for Lisa's Army. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a difference while spending quality time with your four-legged friend. Register today and let's make tails wag for Lisa's Army! Each furry participant will receive a custom Lisa's Army bandana.

Can't make it? Join us as a Zombie! Zombies can participate in the event virtually. They receive a race shirt and can even participate in the costume contest by sending us photos of themselves completing their 5K in costume!

Our Goal this year is to raise $100,000! The funds raised will go directly to comforting those battling cancer.

The Lisa's Army 5K is MOVING! Join us at Rose Tree County Park, 1671 N Providence Rd, Media, PA 19063 on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 9:00 am. Wear your costumes, bring your family and friends, pick a pumpkin, run, walk, or volunteer!

Runners and Walkers will receive a race shirt, access to all the Halloween fun, and are eligible for medals and prizes!

Unable to make the race in person? Register as a Zombie! Run or walk with us during the first week in October from anywhere in the world! Bonus points if you do it in your costume! Register, send us a picture, and we will share your story on our social media pages as we prepare for race day! The best-costumed Zombie will receive a prize!

YOU ASKED AND IT'S BACK! Air up your favorite inflatable costume and sign up for the Inflatable Fun Run! This race will take place at 9:10 am before the 5K run and 1 mile walk, so you can do both! This event is restricted to 18 years old and up. Select Inflatable Costume Sprint and 5K Run Two-in-One Registration or Inflatable Costume Sprint and 5K Walk Two-In-One Registration when you register.

NEW this YEAR - Register your doggie and receive a custom Lisa's Army Bandana. Dog-friendly dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed (no retractable leashes allowed). All dogs brought to Rose Tree County Park must be up-to-date on their Rabies vaccination.

Awards! The award ceremony will start at 10:15 am at the start/finish line. Awards will be given to the top overall finishers female, non-binary, male, in each of the following categories: under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

As always, we remember why we run, to bring smiles to those battling cancer. Let's make this the biggest IMPACT ever!
