  • RACE DAY REGISTRATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. Due to the race wave format, there will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. You MUST enter the race by 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 24th in order to participate.
  • A T-shirt is NOT included in the registration fee. If you would like a T-shirt, please select your size on the Giveaway page and $10 will be added to your cart. T-shirts are only available to order to those who register prior to April 20.
  • T-Shirts will not be an option to those who register after the deadline.
  • Shenandoah Valley Runners (SVR) Members receive a $1 discount.

Bib Pickup Dates and Times 
(during Runners' Retreat store hours)
After registering, allow 24 hours for your bib to be ready for pickup.

  • Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 24: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, May 25: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Race Day, Monday, May 26: Pickup starts at 6:15 AM

Race Format

  • The race will be run in waves of approximately 75-100 runners each.
  • The non-competitive Fitness Walk will begin at 8:00 am.
  • The first mile heat featuring the Top ~50-75 men (A-Wave) will start at 8:30 am, followed by the Top ~50-75 women (B-Wave) at 8:40 am.
  • The next wave (C-Wave) will include runners with the next fastest times. Subsequent waves will be based on entry time. 
  • The Tot Trot will happen approximately 10 minutes after the last runner finishes in the last wave.

Wave Information

Your bib number will indicate your wave. Please see wave information HERE. Please try to run in your assigned wave. However, if you miss your wave, run in the next one. You will still receive an accurate time.

When you arrive at the start area, line up with your wave. The A-wave will line up on the starting line and other waves will be staggered south on Loudoun Street and along Commerce Ave. As one wave begins, the remaining waves will move up closer to the starting line.

The Loudoun Street Mile is the
2026 RRCA Regional Championship Mile Event!


The RRCA Championship Event Series is the largest grassroots-organized running series in the U.S. with over 200 races participating that attract nearly 300,000 participants. RRCA Championship Events are designated annually at the State, Regional, and National level through a competitive bidding process. The goal of the RRCA Championship Event Series is to celebrate and shine a spotlight on well-run, community-focused events and to award their top performing runners.

RRCA provides awards for:

  • Open male and female
  • 40+ male and female
  • 50+ male and female
  • 60+ male and female

We will once again host the Collegiate Running Association (CRA) National Championship Mile race! Collegiate runners will compete in the men's or women's races and will be eligible for separate prizes, including prize money. Overall awards to the top 5, equal for men and women. Prize money winners WILL be able to "double dip" and accept Open prize money if applicable.

To be eligible for the collegiate championships, runner must be enrolled in at least one college course (online included) as of Spring 2026. To confirm eligibility for CRA awards, contact CRA. 

Anyone interested in a complimentary entry can email Mark Stickley at mark@runnersretreat.com. There will be a limited number of seeded comp entries, but last year's minimum requirements were sub 4:15 for men and sub 4:55 for women.

Race Start & Finish Line

The Fitness Walk & Mile Races will start at 1512 S. Loudoun Street near Blue Ridge Electric. The Finish Line is on the Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall in front of the Courthouse Museum.
