Winnie's Way 5k Rescue Run

When: SATURDAY, AUGUST 17TH, 2024

Where: Arthur Ray Teague Boat Launch, Bossier City, LA

Time: 5k Race begins at 8:00 a.m. 

              1/2 mile Fun Run starts at 7:45 a.m.

All proceeds from the race will go to support Winnie’s Wish that all rescue dogs with special needs obtain proper care and loving homes!  Visit www.winniesway.org for more about our mission!

Course Description: Starting at the Arthur Ray Teague Boat launch, real simple out and back on the bike path.

Registration:  Early registration is $25 until August 11th,

 $30 Aug. 12th – Aug. 18th.  

Race day registration is $35.  

Be sure to register early, as shirt sizes are only guaranteed for those who register by  August 10th @ 3:00 p.m.

Lazy Dawg Sleep-in Supporter: Don’t feel like getting up and running? Not a problem! Sign up as a sleep-in supporter. You still get a race shirt you just don’t have to break a sweat to get it!

Packet Pick Up​:​ You may pick up your packet at Sportspectrum on Thursday Aug. 15th from noon- 6:00 p.m. and Friday Aug. 16th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  You may also pick up your packet on Race Day at the Race Site starting at 7:00am.

Awards​:​  Overall Male & Female finishers will receive a $200 cash prize and a trophy.  1st Place Male & Female in the following age groups will also receive a trophy.  

Age Groups​:​ 12 & under, 13–17, 18-29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60+.

Post Party​:​ Be sure to stay after the race for refreshments and awards!! 

Several area animal rescue organizations also plan to be present with adoptable pets and information about their organizations!

Special Notes​:​ You are welcome to bring your dog to the race, as long as it is leashed at all times.  Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will also be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace only.  Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates, or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on the run course.  This rule is an RRCA regulation!
