Lee Massachusetts Founders Day Virtual 5K

The Founders Day 5K was established in 2014 as a fundraiser for the Lee Middle and High School Cross Country team and has now become a key event in the town of Lee's Founders Day celebration. Sadly, due to Covid restrictions, Lee Founders Day has been cancelled. But even though we have been forced to go virtual, the race is still on!

The official course is a 5K, relatively flat loop that begins and ends at Lee High School and follows the same route as the Memorial Day Dorothy Finnegan 5K. But the good thing about a virtual race is you can run anywhere, any time! Simply time yourself with the running app of your choice and submit your results, along with pictures either to our Facebook page linked below or, if you are not on Facebook, email to djeansnow@roadrunner.com. 

All entries will receive a free t-shirt. T-shirts may be picked up at location TBD. If you prefer your t-shirt mailed to you please include an extra $5 in the donation section to cover the shipping cost. 

1st place male and female winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to Berkshire Running Center. You may run any where or any distance you like but to qualify for the award you must complete the official course and submit your time between Sept 12th-Sept 30th.

Course directions: Begin in the road at the Main entrance of LMHS. (This will be the entrance on the right if you are facing the school from the road)Continue on Greylock Street, crossing the intersection of Greylock and East Center. Greylock street will come out on Bradley street. Continue straight on Bradley.At the Gazebo at the intersection of Bradley, East and Mill street, make a sharp right onto East street. (You must go completely around the Gazebo; you cannot cut through the path.) Continue down East street and make a right turn on East Center. Turn left back onto Greylock and continue to the entrance you began. Enter the entrance and finish directly in front of the school.
