K9 VETERANS DAY VIRTUAL PARTICIPANT

Description

"The Working Dog"

My eyes are your eyes,
to watch and protect you and yours.

My ears are your ears,
to hear and detect evil minds in the dark.

My nose is your nose,
to scent the invader of your domain.

And so you may live,
my life is also yours.

National K9 Veterans Day, on March 13th each year, is a day to honor the service and sacrifice of America's Military Dogs.

On March 13, 1942, the United States Army began the War Dog Program, or K-9 Corps, by training dogs to become a integral part of combat.

Today, military working dogs are important teammates to any military unit.  Their actions have been etched in history, forever remembering their heroic actions.

On March 13th, 2020 join us in honoring the service and sacrifice of these extraordinary dogs.  While this day is set aside for Military K-9, it is important to also recognize their canine counterparts serving our Nation through law enforcement.

American Gold Star Mothers Inc proudly supports the K9 Veterans Day Memorial Virtual Race.  AGSM has a strong partnership with Working Dogs for Vets, supporting their mission through their annual Walk-a-Thon in Washington, DC.  It is our pleasure to announce that $20 from each registration of the K9 Veterans Day Memorial Virtual Race will be donated directly to Working Dogs for Vets.

This Virtual Race can be completed wherever you are, and to any distance or discipline that you desire.  You will be mailed an awesome shirt (first 30 registrants only!) plus event bib and commemorative finishers medal for you and man's best friend!
