Benefitting the Webster Groves School District Foundation.

In 1974 Ivory Crockett ran the fastest 100-yard dash with manual timing of 9.0 seconds, a record that stands today. Please join the celebration of Ivory Crockett's achievements with this community-wide event, in which the proceeds benefit the WGSD students and staff through Foundation Grants and Ivory Crockett Scholarships.

For obvious reasons, the Webster Groves School District Foundation will be doing things differently this year. While we would love to see you in person, the on-going reality of the pandemic means we cannot hold a mass-start 5k run or Pancake Breakfast, as we have in past years. However, we have an exciting slate of activities for  families, kids, parents, runners, walkers, joggers, fans, etc: in short, there is still ‘something for everyone’ at this year’s Run for Webster!

This year we are offering a series of exciting events, including Scavenger Hunts starting from our many elementary schools, virtual 5k Routes from every Webster Groves School District school, and a special Ivory Crockett Challenge, a virtual 5k starting from Ivory Crockett Park in North Webster!

All of our activities are listed below, with dates, times, locations, and other details. Registration for all activities begins on September 1st.

If you just want the T-shirt, you can also buy them here.

Family Scavenger Hunt

This Family Friendly activity is on October 17th, from 1PM to 4PM, rain or shine. There is a Scavenger Hunt at each elementary school. The price is $5 per person. When you register, enter your preferred elementary school.

For the Scavenger Hunt, Download the free app "GooseChase" (Apple, Android) for scavenger hunt details and clues. Only one family member will need to download GooseChase. You do not need to make an account. You will be playing as a guest that day. Please download it before you come to the event. Once you have arrived at your child's elementary school, we will have volunteers to give you your next set of instructions.

The Scavenger Hunt has a special clue...It is important to wear your sneakers / running shoes to find the prize!

5k Runs

Practice social distancing by choosing your 5k location! You have from registration until October 31, 2020 to participate. We have created 5k routes near every Webster Groves School (including every elementary school, WG High School, Steger 6th Grade Center, and Hixson Middle School).

All of our runs this year are ‘virtual:’ do them whenever you want between your registration and the end of October. You can record and upload your time to the Race Results page and compare yourself against others, if that’s your thing.

Run Bundles

We have a few ‘Run Bundles’ for those who want to do more than one 5k: At registration, you can select from the following:

  • Any single run ($15)

  • Any two runs ($25) - NOTE: to select this option of the registration page, choose your first 5k event, then click the link below that event titled ‘Pair this 5K with any other school for $5 off your total registration!’ to add your second run.

  • Unlimited runs ($30, and includes a 2020 Run for Webster T-shirt). Best value! Run all the routes, or just the ones you want.

  • Ivory Crockett Challenge - 2020 Only EVENT. The Ivory Crockett Challenge, an exciting new option that takes runners on a challenging circuit of historic North Webster. This is a separately priced run, at $30, which also includes the 2020 Run for Webster T-shirt. In addition, all participants will be entered into a raffle to receive a $30 Gift Certificate to be used at participating Webster Groves businesses.

2020 Run for Webster Routes

Ivory Crockett Challenge 5k
This new premier activity is a 5k run in historic North Webster, starting and ending at Ivory Crockett Park. This is the only ‘race’ that the Webster Groves School District Foundation will track as a competitive event (winners may be asked to substantiate their reported times).

The crowning achievement for competitors and Webster Groves School District  Foundation supporters alike! In one of the few upsides of this year, we are finally able to offer you a chance to race, run, walk, or stroll through historic North Webster, on a route starting and ending at Ivory Crockett park! This mostly clockwise loop will take you through much of this neighborhood, with sections on Bell, Reasnor, and Almentor before a short section on Rock Hill Road. Re-enter the neighborhood and run the length of Euclid before the challenging Holland hills, down to the low point on Ravine and Lorraine Davis, before starting the mostly uphill last mile up Waymire, south on Cornell, back up Ravine, to the aptly-named Plateau. A short stint on Lithia, Ennis, and Thornton return you to Bell, to the downhill finish.

The route is here: Ivory Crockett Challenge
