Description
Piney Woods Conservation Group and Pinebelt Blueways, in partnership with our friends at Seven Rivers Canoe Club, are hosting our first Moonlight Paddle - Nocturnal Floats - on the Lower Bouie River!
Join us for a leisurely evening/night paddle on the Lower Bouie River - a logistically simple out-and-back from the Hwy. 11 Boat Ramp to the lakes just north of our launch at the confluence of the Bouie and Leaf Rivers, an approximately 3-mile roundtrip paddle! We'll make a pit stop at the perfect rockbar to hangout by the campfire and enjoy some s'mores. With low river flow and still waters, it's a relaxing and safe float for paddlers of all experience levels.
This is a BYOC/K (bring your own canoe/kayak) event, but we'll have the Pinebelt Blueways fleet there for anyone who wants to join and doesn't have a boat. First-come, first-serve, so register in advance and claim your watercraft! PFDs (personal flotation devices) will be required to be worn at ALL times on the water. It's recommended that everyone also have a small light/lantern/glow stick so you and your boat can be easily identified on the water.
See you out there:
