Lace Up Son Family 5K

Join the Steve Smith Family Foundation (S2F2) on Monday, May 25 as we host our second annual Lace Up Son Family 5K in downtown Matthews! 

This one-of-a-kind, family-friendly Memorial Day celebration includes recognition of active duty and veteran members of our military, and accommodates the special needs community.

The course will take you through the streets of downtown Matthews before ending at Stumptown Park. Bring the whole family or your best friends to this can’t-miss event!

This race is great for families and groups of friends alike. Run or walk – the Steve Smith Family Foundation welcomes participants of all skill levels and ages.

Each participant will receive a custom Lace Up Son Family 5K medal, shoe laces and t-shirt.*

A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit the Siskey, Simmons and Johnston YMCAs by providing programs and services to children financially unable to participate. Additionally, S2F2 supports the Special Olympics of N.C., and gifts shoes to women and children in need.

 

Established in 2013 by Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Steve Smith Sr. and wife Angie, S2F2 is focused on the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the community, one person at a time. S2F2 proudly partners with nonprofit organizations to provide hope and inspiration to those in need and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

 

*Custom Lace Up Son Family 5K medals, shoe laces and t-shirt are only guaranteed while supplies last. Register early to reserve your medal, laces and shirt/size.

 

Entry Fees

Team: $29.50 per person

Monday, May 25 (Race Day)

Individual: $50 per person

 

Team Registration
A team is defined as 4 or more family members or friends ready to lace up, son! A complete team isn't required to register. Start your team today, with teammates to register at their leisure, however starting a team doesn't reserve entry.

 

No refunds. Rain or shine. This event may sell out at any time.

Mail-In Registration & Donations

Participants may register or make donations via mail, by check only. All mail-in registrations should be postmarked by Monday, May 18 and checks should be made payable to the Steve Smith Family Foundation and sent to:
