What is better than racing in the Hudson Valley during the fall? The cool crisp air on your face, the crisper leaves under your feet, that warm apple cider afterwards. While most fall races are up in the air at the moment, the HVFF is a solution.
We have mapped out several courses for you to run. Sign up for the week, and run whichever course you want to run. Download the RaceJoy App. Find this race and sign in as a participant. Run with the app up and get your time. You have a week to run ANY of the courses and get your name on the results. We will be doing six weeks in this series. Sign up for any number of weeks, from one to all six, it is your choice! Each week we will be giving out a specific county patch. Run all six weeks and you will make up the Lower Hudson Valley! Additionally, if you sign up for all 6 weeks in week 1 or 2 we will be adding a beanie in addition. You can run ANY course in a week and do not need to run in that county that week.
We are looking to make this a competition, so while this race is happening, you will see updates on the results for the course you ran. At the end of the series, we will be compiling all of the best times together. Additionally, if you are a part of a local club in the Hudson Valley, we will be having a team competition.
Series Description/ Patch Design
The series is six (6) weeks long.
Each week runners will sign up to complete a 5K on one of our courses throughout the Hudson Valley (or virtually anywhere) using the Racejoy App on their phone. Check out the Racejoy how to on the main page of this event to see how it works.
*Runners competing in the preplanned courses must run with their phone and app to be considered for the results.*
Every week you sign up for, you will earn a patch. If you run every week, all of the patches will make up the lower Hudson Valley.
Week 1- Ulster, Week 2- Dutchess, Week 3- Putnam, Week 4- Westchester, Week 5-Rockland, Week 6- Orange, Series Completion-Sullivan
Overall Results and Team Scoring
At the start of each week, the results from the previous week will be saved and displayed on the most recent week's page for reference (ie. week 1 will show on week 2's registration page after week 1 is finished)
At the end of all 6 weeks, we will display and send out the overall results of every course as well as an overall list.
Team Scoring will be done in groups of 3. The top 3 runners in each course will score as Team A, the next 3 Team B, and so on. Team scores will be based on course. They will also take into account the top performance on that course for a person.
Example: John Doe runs four weeks at Goshen, 1 week at Middletown, and 1 week in Yorktown. He cannot score as 3 people on the Goshen course. However, John Doe can be scored in the Goshen, Middletown, and Yorktown team scores.
