Fleet Feet's 2022 Red, White & Brew 5K

Let's celebrate the 4th of July weekend with a fun-themed 5K run!  

Your $25 Participation Fee Includes: 
- A chip timed 5K (course is USATF certified) starting from the Lake Walton trailhead in Wappingers Falls, NY on Sunday 7/3 beginning at 8am  
- A custom Red, White & Brew race bib 
- A custom-designed gender-specific technical tank for Ladies or a sleeveless tee for Men 
- A beautiful handmade one of a kind wooden finisher's medal
- We will be giving away at least $500 in gift cards ($1,000 if we get 200 participants) to local breweries after the event; drawings will be at 9 am and registered participants must be present to win (drawings will be by bib # - keep your bib on after the race) 
- Special prizes for age group winners: 1-3 overall Male/Female & 10 year age groups 

An email will be sent to all registered participants on Wednesday 6/29 with additional details about the in-person event & SWAG pickup.

- Log into the WEB version of Hotmail (won't work on the app)

Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be held at Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie starting Thursday 6/30 and running through Saturday 7/2 at 6 pm (during normal business hours). Bibs and shirts can also be picked up on the morning of the race from 7:15 - 7:45 am.  

Additional Information & FAQs

Is the race dog/stroller friendly? Strollers are welcome at the event however due to the width of the trail & the number of runners that we are expecting, we ask that they start in a spot that makes sense given their anticipated pace and stay to the right unless passing. Please use extreme caution when passing or approaching other runners or walkers and take extra caution when coming through the finish line chute.  We are unfortunately unable to accommodate dogs at this event as the leashes provide a trip hazard on the narrow trail with so many participants.  

Is there a minimum age for participation? There is no minimum age for participation. The run takes place entirely on the Dutchess Rail Trail which is safe for participants of all ages and abilities.  We ask that parents use their judgment when registering minors to ensure that they can understand instructions for turning around in the appropriate spot and have the ability to complete the distance without any assistance.  Since the majority of gift cards can also be used for food, all participants regardless of age will be entered in the post-race raffle.  

Are these events open to walkers? Are there any time limits? The post-race drawings will take place at 9 am so participants should try to be done by that point to participate in the drawings.  

Do the shirts run true to size? The shirts are a completely technical fabric that is 100% polyester.  They run true to size and you have the option of selecting either red or blue, please select carefully.  The Ladies' shirt is a racerback tank top and the Men's is a sleeveless tee.  To keep our costs low, we order the exact number of shirts that we need and are unfortunately unable to accommodate size switches once the order is placed.  

Can I change my selected shirt size or color? 
Yes, but you must do so in Runsignup before 6/22.

I signed up but can't attend, can I transfer my registration? 
Since this is a timed race, bibs unfortunately cannot be transferred.  If you are unable to participate for whatever reason, your SWAG will still be available for pickup at Fleet Feet at your convenience.  Since we order race supplies as registrations come in, we are unfortunately unable to order refunds or credits toward a future event.  

What if the weather is bad? 
The event will happen rain or shine and we would only not run or delay the start time if there were dangerous conditions such as thunder & lightning.  

Will there be any water on the course?  
Yes, we will have a small hydration station at the start/finish as well as at the turnaround.  

Is there a waitlist if the in-person event sells out?  
We will not have a waitlist for this event and it does generally sell out.  If you are considering registering, don't wait and miss out!  

Where do the race fees go?  Does this event raise money for something? 
Each event that raises money for a specific cause will be explicitly stated, including a detailed explanation of exactly how much is going where.  For the large majority of our events though, the race fees are used to purchase the giveaway items and other goodies that make our events amazing.  We view our races and events as a marketing arm of our in-store business which means that we aren't ever really looking to make a profit on events.  This model is vastly different from most events that are profit-driven and this differentiation enables us to put all of the race fees back into the events, making them a fantastic experience for participants.  We usually go a bit over the top with food, drinks, giveaways, and other extras to ensure a great time is had by everyone!
